Rosat is a fully registered, independent company specializing in all aspects of international film and television production, from initial script developing, investment sourcing, production making all the way to final distribution.
Since its founding in 1995 by award winning 5th Generation filmmakers Li Shaohong, Li Xiaowan and Zeng Nianping, Rosat has moved on to produce and shoot over several dozen feature films and television productions that has gained a great reputation for Rosat in the industry.
Rosat's award winning feature films include: Blush (Winner - Silver Bear Award, Berlin Film Festival (1995) , Best Director - China College Student Film Festival (1995), Golden Peacock Award - Indian Film Festival(1996)); Family Portrait (Winner - International Oecumenical Award, Locarno Film Festival (1992), New Cinema Forum Award - Berlin Film Festival (1993)); Spring Time in Small Town (Winner - San Marco Award Venice International Film Festival (2003)) and Baober in Love (Winner - Best Art Creativity Award, China College Student Film Festival (2004), Best Actress, Chinese Film Directors Association (2005)). Rosat's television drama series, including The Thunderstorm, April Rhapsody, Palace of Desire and Oranges Turn Ripe, have continuously broken China Central Television's (CCTV) highest ratings records.
At the same time as being firmly grounded in the mainland film and television industry, Rosat is also actively developing linkages with its international counterparts. We specialize in the provision of consultancy, production and co-production services to overseas film and television projects whether located in China or offshore. Our international projects include: Warriors of Virtue II (2002 - Thirteen Wnet New York, USA), Fleeing by Night (2001 - Taiwan Zoom Hunt International Productions Company). Rosat has also directly assisted Lion Rock Company and director John Woo's short film Songsong & Little Cat as a part of the UNICEF"All the invisible Children" film project. Numerous internationally renowned filmmakers, such as Allan Miller, have collaborated repeatedly with Rosat in documentary production (Mozart and Mao Zedong and The Turandot Project)
